Santana 21
Description
The Santana 21 is an American trailerable sailboat designed by Seymour Paul as a lightweight racer-cruiser, emphasizing performance in club racing and day sailing while offering basic overnight accommodations. It features a fiberglass monohull with a fractional sloop Bermuda rig, a raked stem, nearly plumb transom, transom-hung rudder, and a stub keel with a swing keel for shallow-draft versatility. The design prioritizes ease of trailering, quick rigging, and fun handling in varied conditions, with a low displacement/length ratio classifying it as an ultralight performer. Introduced in 1969 by W.D. Schock Corp in the United States, the Santana 21 was conceived for one-design racing and coastal cruising. Production ran until 1976, with 879 units built before the model was discontinued.
