San Juan 30
Description
The San Juan 30 is a classic fiberglass masthead sloop designed by Bruce Kirby (famous for the Laser and earlier San Juan models) and built by the Clark Boat Company in Washington, USA. Introduced in 1975 as an evolution of the IOR 1/2-ton racing prototype, it blends speed and seaworthiness for both club racing and coastal cruising. With approximately 360 hulls produced through the early 1980s, it's renowned for its lightweight yet sturdy construction, responsive handling, and affordability. Variants include a deeper keel (6 ft draft) for better upwind performance and a tall rig option for lighter winds.
