Description
The San Clemente 23 is a compact, lightweight fiberglass daysailer and pocket cruiser from the late 1960s onward, designed by renowned naval architect William I.B. Crealock (also known for models like the Westsail 32) for balanced performance with good light-air capability thanks to a generous sail plan, while offering reasonable comfort for short coastal trips or club racing rather than heavy offshore work. Built primarily by South Coast Fiberglass Products in San Clemente, California (with some later associations to San Clemente Yacht Corp or even Windsong Yachts in Oklahoma noted in ads), it featured molded fiberglass construction in a fin keel with skeg-hung rudder hull; production was limited and somewhat obscure, described as "extremely rare" in many sources, with likely only a small number built (exact quantity not documented but far fewer than mainstream contemporaries like the Cal 25 or Santana 22).
