Sailstar 14 (Tallstar 14, Meteor 14)

Sailstar 14 (Tallstar 14, Meteor 14)

Description

The Sailstar 14 refers to a small fiberglass daysailer produced by Sailstar Boat Co. (Warwick, Rhode Island, USA) in the early 1960s. It was available in two main variants: the Tallstar 14 (with a raised deck/cuddy for minimal shelter and storage -- first image on the left) and the Meteor 14 (open cockpit version, no cuddy -- second image). These were lightweight, trailerable centerboard dinghies designed by Robert H. Baker as affordable family daysailers or club racers, sharing lineage with the Flying Junior but with a more forgiving hull shape and simple fractional sloop rig.
