Sailcrafter 57

Sailcrafter 57

Description

The Sailcrafter 57 is a 57-foot luxury cruising sailboat designed by William H. Tripp Jr. and built by Columbia Yachts as part of their "kit boat" program from 1969 to 1974. This model was based on the Columbia 57 hull, which was billed as America's largest production fiberglass sailboat at launch, with just 11 hulls produced under the Columbia name plus an unknown number sold as the Sailcrafter 57. The design represents Columbia's innovative approach to offering high-end yachts through their kit boat program, allowing serious sailors to acquire a Tripp-designed vessel at reduced cost while customizing the interior and systems to their specific requirements. Her generous sail plan delivers excellent light-air performance, making this substantial yacht ideal for both luxury cruising and serious offshore passages.
