Description
The Sabre 362 is a refined evolution of the popular Sabre 36, crafted by Sabre Yachts in Wiscasset, Maine, USA, as a premium coastal cruiser with offshore capabilities. Introduced in 1993, it builds on the 36's reputation for balanced performance, luxurious teak interiors, and robust hand-laid fiberglass construction, incorporating subtle hull and rig optimizations for improved light-air speed and stability. Available in three keel configurations—deep fin (6'6" draft for upwind prowess), shoal-draft wing (4'8" for shallow waters), and centerboard (up: 4'6"; down: 7'6" for versatility)—it's favored by couples or small families for extended cruising. The design emphasizes a high ballast ratio (~42%) for stiffness in 25+ knot winds, a dry ride, and easy single-handing, with a PHRF rating of 114–126. Approximately 120 hulls were produced from 1993 to 2003, making it one of Sabre's most successful models before the company shifted to motor yachts in 2012.
