The Sabre 36 is a quintessential performance cruiser from Sabre Yachts in Wiscasset, Maine, USA, designed by the Sabre team under Roger Hewson's influence for sailors seeking a blend of speed, comfort, and seaworthiness in a 36-footer. Produced from 1984 to 1990, it features a moderate-displacement hull with a fine entry for upwind efficiency (PHRF 126–138) and a high ballast ratio (~40%) for stability in 25+ knot conditions. Available as a masthead sloop or cutter rig, with options for deep fin keel (6'2" draft), shoal-draft fin (4'11"), or keel/centerboard (up: 4'3"; down: 7'3"), it's renowned for its hand-laid fiberglass construction, teak interiors, and skeg-hung rudder for protected steering.
