S2 6.9 Meter (Grand Slam Series)
Description
The S2 6.9 Meter, also known as the S2 6.9 Grand Slam, is a zippy American trailerable sailboat from the early 1980s, designed by Don Wennersten and Graham & Schlageter for S2 Yachts. At twenty-two feet overall with an eighteen-foot-seven waterline, eight-foot beam, and twenty-two hundred pounds displacement, she's a fractional-rigged fractional sloop that's a blast for racing or day sailing, hitting speeds up to eight knots in a breeze while handling light airs like a champ. Solid fiberglass build, swing keel for shallow drafts down to one-foot-six, and room for four crew make her a forgiving yet competitive pocket rocket-perfect for club races, though watch that rating if you're handicap sailing.
