Description
The Bruce Roberts TS 24, also known as the Adventurer 24, is a versatile trailerable pocket cruiser designed in the 1980s for affordable DIY construction and enjoyable coastal or inland sailing, available in centerboard (draft up to 1'10"), fixed keel (2'9"), or bilge keel versions to suit shallow waters or stability needs, with a seaworthy hull emphasizing light-air performance and ease of handling. At 24 feet LOA with a 21'3" waterline, 8-foot beam, and displacement of about 4,750 pounds, it features a fractional sloop rig delivering around 240–310 square feet of sail area (mainsail 112 ft² plus jib 128 ft² or genoa 199 ft²), powered by a 6–10 hp outboard auxiliary, and built in fiberglass (C-Flex, single skin, or foam sandwich) or double-diagonal plywood-epoxy for budgets under $15,000–$20,000 complete. The compact interior accommodates 4 berths in a V-berth forward and convertible settees, with 5'6" headroom, a basic galley, and portable head, making it ideal for weekend getaways or extended liveaboard for a couple; over hundreds built worldwide, used examples from the 1990s–2000s typically sell for $10,000–$25,000, praised for its simplicity and fun factor among novice and veteran sailors alike
