The Roberts 45 is a renowned fiberglass cruising sailboat design by Australian naval architect Bruce Roberts, first introduced in the 1970s and still highly regarded for bluewater voyages despite its vintage status. Built worldwide as both custom and production models—most notably by Fortuna Yachts in South Africa—this 43-foot-8-inch (LOA) cutter-rigged ketch features a long keel for stability, a beam of 13 feet 3 inches, a draft of 6 feet, and a displacement of approximately 28,928 pounds with 10,500 pounds of ballast, enabling it to handle heavy weather while providing comfortable accommodations for couples or small families, including 6 feet 3 inches of headroom and versatile interior layouts.
