RK 20

RK 20

Description

The RK 20 (sometimes stylized as RK-20 or RK20) is a classic American trailerable sailboat, designed by the legendary naval architect Lyle C. Hess (known for his sturdy, seaworthy designs like the Bristol Channel Cutter and many small cruisers). It was first built in 1972 by RK Industries, a subsidiary of Coastal Recreation (the same company behind the popular Balboa 20 series). The RK 20 is essentially a raised-deck variant of the Balboa 20, offering more headroom and interior volume while retaining the same basic hull form. This makes it a practical step up for small-boat cruisers wanting better accommodations without sacrificing trailerability.
