The most documented Reinell 27 was actually the SUN 27 (also known as the SUN 838), which was built by Sun Yachts/Reinell Boat Co. from 1977 to 1980. This boat had a fascinating development history - it started as the "Cheetah 26" designed by Edwin Monk Jr., then Bob Perry was contracted to make revisions including eliminating an outboard well and creating a new raised deck and lowered house design.
