Rawson 30
Description
The Rawson 30 is a robust American bluewater cruising sailboat designed by renowned Pacific Northwest naval architect William Garden and constructed by Ron Rawson Inc. from 1958 to 1984. This 30.5-foot vessel represents Garden's philosophy of creating seaworthy cruising yachts that prioritize safety and comfort over racing performance, with Ron Rawson applying his extensive experience building commercial fishing vessels to create exceptionally sturdy recreational sailboats. Built with hand-laid solid fiberglass hull construction and fiberglass-balsa sandwich deck, the boat features a long keel encapsulating 5,000 pounds of boiler punchings and concrete ballast, creating an extremely stable platform intended strictly for serious cruising applications. With an impressive production run of 252 boats built over 26 years, the design established itself as a dependable choice for offshore cruising, with a yawl conversion kit available and 36 pilothouse versions constructed for Pacific Northwest conditions.
