The Ranger 37, also known as the Ranger 1 Ton, is a high-performance fiberglass racer/cruiser sloop designed by Gary Mull and built by Ranger Yachts in Costa Mesa, California, from 1972 to 1976. Approximately 100 units were produced, positioning it as a sought-after IOR (International Offshore Rule) One Ton class contender during the golden era of ocean racing. Mull's design, influenced by his work on earlier Rangers like the 26 and 33, features a sleek fin keel hull with skeg-hung rudder for balanced speed and protection, earning acclaim for its upwind prowess and offshore capability—proven in events like the 1974 One Ton Cup where prototypes dominated.
