Ranger 23 Fun
Description
The Ranger Fun 23 (also known simply as the Fun 23) is a lively, trailerable fiberglass one-design racer with cruiser potential, designed by the French firm Joubert-Nivelt and first built in 1982. Conceived by French sailor Alain Forgeot as an "authentic sailing gym" for competitive fun, it has thrived as a one-design class in Europe, with about 100 units produced in the US by Ranger Yachts in Tampa, Florida (a few more by Jeanneau in France). Emphasizing agility over amenities, its swing keel allows shallow-water access, while the fractional rig delivers responsive handling for club racing or spirited day sails. Owners describe it as a "blast" to sail, with adjustable mast bend via runners for tuning in varied conditions—ideal for enthusiasts seeking a nimble, forgiving performer that's easy to trailer and launch.
