Ranger 11

Description

The Ranger 11 sailing dinghy was manufactured by Ranger Boats, based in Kent, Washington, USA. This small company, owned by Howard Smith, specialized in fiberglass rowing and sailing craft during the 1960s through the 1990s, producing a range of compact boats like the Ranger 20 and similar dinghies. The Ranger 11, designed by renowned naval architect Ray Richards (known for designs like the Haida 26 and Pacific 30), was commissioned as one of his smallest projects—a nimble, unsinkable 11-foot sloop ideal for tender duties or solo sailing. Production was limited (fewer than 200 units estimated, based on owner forums and listings), with examples dated from the late 1960s to as late as 1992.
