Description
The Rainbow 24 is an American small cruising sailboat designed by the legendary naval architecture firm Sparkman & Stephens and constructed by Tidewater Boats from 1962 to 1977. This 24-foot vessel represents a classic example of mid-century American yacht design, emerging during the golden age of fiberglass boat construction when Sparkman & Stephens was at the height of their influence in both racing and cruising yacht design. Built with solid fiberglass construction featuring a fin keel with spade rudder configuration and masthead sloop rig, the boat was designed specifically for day sailing and light cruising applications where performance and stability were prioritized. The Rainbow 24 is a light sailboat which is a good performer. It is very stable / stiff and has a good righting capability if capsized. It is best suited as a day-boat. With 500 boats built during its 15-year production run, the Rainbow 24 established itself as a popular choice for sailors seeking an affordable yet capable small yacht that could handle both recreational sailing and light racing with confidence.
