Prout Snowgoose Elite 37
Description
The Prout Snowgoose Elite 37 is an updated evolution of the iconic Snowgoose 37 catamaran, designed by British multihull pioneers Tom and James Peter Prout and introduced in 1986. Produced by Prout Catamarans in Canvey Island, UK, until 2002, it's a sturdy, seaworthy cruising catamaran optimized for blue water passages, coastal exploration, or liveaboard life with a family or couple (sleeps 6-7). The Elite version features a wider beam (+1 ft over the original Snowgoose 37) for enhanced stability and interior volume, refined hull lines for better performance, a taller mast, and a slightly deeper draft, while retaining the series' reputation for robustness and simplicity. With over 500 Snowgoose 37 variants built (Elite comprising ~200-300), it's renowned for crossing oceans (e.g., Atlantic circuits) despite modest speeds, thanks to its high bridge deck clearance and forgiving handling.
