Pearson Resolute

Description

The Pearson Resolute is a compact, fiberglass daysailer and one-design racer designed by William H. "Bill" Tritt for Pearson Yachts, introduced in 1963 as a 19-foot (later marketed as 20-foot) pocket cruiser blending traditional early American styling—such as a spoon bow, wineglass transom, and low freeboard—with modern, low-maintenance construction. Featuring a long keel for stability and a masthead sloop rig, it emphasizes family-friendly day sailing on lakes or coastal waters, with room for four in the cockpit and basic overnighting capability via a cuddy cabin. Produced briefly during Pearson's early expansion under Grumman ownership, it prioritizes speed, safety, and simplicity, making it an accessible entry-level sailboat for beginners or racers, with no fixed engine (outboard optional) and trailerable design for easy storage.
