Parker 27
Description
The Parker 27 is a fast, trailerable lifting-keel cruiser-racer designed by Ron Holland and built by Parker Yachts (UK) (G.W. Parker & Son, Boston, Lincolnshire, England) from 1987 to 1990. It is essentially a modified and updated version of the earlier Ron Holland-designed Super Seal 26/27 series (Super Seal 26 from 1981–1984, Super Seal 27 from 1984–1987), with enhancements for better performance and accommodations while retaining the signature lifting keel for shallow draft, beaching, and easy trailering/launching. Construction is GRP (fiberglass) with a cast iron ballast keel, fractional sloop rig, transom-hung rudder, and a practical 4–6 berth layout (depending on configuration) with sitting headroom, galley, and enclosed head—suited for coastal cruising, club racing, and weekend adventures. Production was short-run and limited (only about 28 hulls built), now long out of production but appreciated by owners for its seaworthiness, stability (high ballast ratio), lively handling, and ability to dry out upright safely; it's part of the active Parker & Seal Sailing Association community.
