Pandora International 22
Description
The Pandora International 22 (also known as Pandora International) is a compact, performance-oriented small sailboat designed by Dutch naval architect E. G. Van de Stadt (Ericus Gerhardus van de Stadt) and built primarily by Rydgeway Marine in the UK from around 1973 to 1976 (with some production or variants noted in other locations like Holland/Netherlands). It represents an updated "International" version of the earlier Pandora MkI, featuring fiberglass (FG) construction, a higher-aspect-ratio fin keel (deeper and more efficient than the original), a taller mast and shorter boom aligned with 1970s IOR (International Offshore Rule) trends for improved upwind performance, a transom-hung rudder, masthead sloop rig, and a practical 4-berth layout with sitting headroom, galley, and enclosed head in a cozy interior; it was praised for its sea-kindly hull, uncluttered deck, solid build quality, and balanced handling suitable for coastal/day sailing or club racing, though production was limited and it is now long out of production with examples still actively sailed and restored today.
