Palmer Johnson 34 (PJ 34)

Palmer Johnson 34 (PJ 34)

Description

The Palmer Johnson 34 (also known as the PJ-34) is a classic racer-cruiser sailboat designed by Sparkman & Stephens (often referred to as the S&S 34 in related contexts, though the PJ version has some marketing/distribution distinctions) and built by Palmer Johnson in the United States starting around 1970. It features fiberglass construction with a fin keel and skeg-mounted rudder, a masthead sloop rig, and was intended as a competitive yet capable offshore performer suitable for racing and cruising, with a reputation for solid build quality from the renowned Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin yard. Production was limited (exact numbers are not widely documented but it was a short-run model in the early 1970s, out of production today), and it shares design lineage with other S&S 34 variants built elsewhere.
