Pacific Seacraft 31
Description
The Pacific Seacraft 31 is a bluewater cruising yacht produced since 1987 by Pacific Seacraft, now of Washington, North Carolina. Designed by renowned naval architect W.I.B. (William) Crealock, this traditionally built yacht features GRP construction with a cutter rig, skeg-hung rudder, and semi-long keel configuration. Production ran from 1987 to 1999, with 100 boats built during the initial run, then resumed in 2002. The design's heritage can be traced to 1984, when Pacific Seacraft commissioned Crealock to produce a smaller version of his then-popular Crealock 37, initially drawing a 34-foot adaptation before condensing it into the 31-foot package. The hull configuration, rig and underbody are very similar to her two forebears (the Crealock 37 and 34), yet she boasts a proportionately broader beam and longer waterline, resulting in outstanding speed, comfortable motion, and superb ease of handling. The yacht displaces 11,000 pounds with 4,700 pounds of lead ballast and features a fin keel with rudder on skeg configuration.
