Pacific Far East 44

Pacific Far East 44

Description

The Pacific Far East 44 represents an excellent example of 1980s Taiwanese yacht construction, designed by the renowned naval architect Robert Perry and built by Chung Hwa Boatworks in Taiwan. This 44-foot cutter was commissioned by Mike Lewis of Pacific Far East Industries in California, with production running from 1978 to 1989. The Pacific Far East 44 exemplifies the high-quality Taiwanese yacht construction of the 1980s. Early boats were finished in the US, and though ownership of the parent company changed a number of times, construction of all boats was supervised by George Olivet, which is said to have ensured a high quality of build. Only 56 boats built over an 11-year production run
