Paceship Chance 29/25
Description
The Paceship Chance 29/25 (also known as the Chance 29/25 or Chance 29) is a rare Canadian-built IOR-influenced cruiser-racer from Paceship Yachts Ltd. (Mahone Bay, Nova Scotia), designed by renowned naval architect Britton Chance Jr. and produced in very limited numbers (only about 26 units built) from 1973 to 1974. The unusual "29/25" designation refers to its overall length (29 ft) and waterline length (approximately 25.5 ft), a nod to rating rules of the era that rewarded long waterlines for better performance. It's a fin-keel masthead sloop with a spade rudder, emphasizing speed, handling, and moderate accommodations — a performance-oriented boat for coastal racing or fast cruising rather than heavy bluewater work.
