Outrigger 26 (Somersault 26)

Outrigger 26 (Somersault 26)

Description

The Outrigger 26 (originally launched as the Somersault 26) represents one of the few production efforts based on the avant-garde designs of legendary multihull architect Dick Newick. Built by Outrigger Boat Co. starting in 1987, this ultra-lightweight trimaran embodies Newick's signature "South Seas" aesthetic with graceful, curved "mastodon-tusk" akas (cross-arms) and narrow, high-buoyancy hulls. With only 12-13 hulls ever produced before the company ceased operations in the early 1990s, this vessel occupies a unique niche in multihull history.
