Olympic Dolphin 23
Description
The Olympic Dolphin 23 is a compact, Canadian-built trailerable sailboat designed by Derek Angus and produced by Olympic Yachts Ltd. (Vancouver, BC) starting in 1973, with some units later assembled in Greece. This masthead sloop emphasizes affordability, ease of handling, and versatility for coastal cruising or club racing, blending a lightweight fiberglass hull with a swing keel for shallow-water access. With a production run of around 100–150 units (exact numbers elusive due to fragmented records), it's a cult favorite among Great Lakes and Pacific Northwest sailors for its stiff, responsive performance in moderate conditions. Variants include a fixed-fin keel (deeper draft, slightly heavier) and interior tweaks across builders.
