Olympic Adventure 47 Ketch
Description
The Olympic Adventure 47 (also known as Olympic Adventure 47 Ketch or simply Olympic 47) is the largest and most spacious model in the Ted Brewer-designed Adventure series from Olympic Marine S.A. in Greece. Production started around 1974–1976, with a limited run of these robust fiberglass center-cockpit cruising ketches. Like the 38 and 42 you asked about earlier, it's built for serious offshore and bluewater sailing, with excellent stability, comfortable motion in heavy seas, and generous living space—often praised by owners and even Ted Brewer himself as one of the best executions from his production designs (he noted the Olympic yard did top-quality work on these). The ketch rig provides versatile sail plans for shorthanded cruising, good balance, and strong performance in a wide range of conditions, including light airs thanks to the substantial sail area.
