Description
The O'Day 37, a popular center cockpit production cruiser designed by C. Raymond Hunt Associates and built by O'Day Corp. from 1977 to 1985 (with 219 hulls produced), stands out for its spacious, family-friendly interior in a 37-foot center- or aft-cockpit layout, sleeping 6–7 with two private cabins, two heads, and ample galley space under 6'3"+ headroom. Featuring a solid fiberglass hull with balsa-cored deck, fin keel (5 ft draft), and masthead sloop rig with 594 sq ft sail area, it delivers balanced performance—brisk upwind in 10–15 knots, stable in gusts, and forgiving motion for coastal cruising—while achieving hull speeds around 7.4 knots on its 14,000 lb displacement.
