The O'Day 302, designed by C. Raymond Hunt Associates and built by O'Day Corp. from 1988 to 1990, is a versatile American family cruiser sailboat renowned for its spacious interior and capable performance in a compact 29.58-foot hull, featuring a masthead sloop rig, optional wing keel for shallow drafts of 3.92 feet, and a fin keel variant drawing 4.92 feet. With a 10.75-foot beam, 7,200-pound displacement balanced by 2,400 pounds of ballast, and 474 square feet of sail area driven by an 18 HP Yanmar diesel auxiliary, it excels in coastal and moderate offshore sailing, handling challenging conditions like 40-knot winds and 20-foot seas with stability and ease.
