O'Day 28

Description

The O'Day 28, designed by C. Raymond Hunt Associates and produced by O'Day Corp. (under Bangor Punta Marine) from 1982 to 1984 with a limited run of about 20 hulls, is a compact American coastal cruiser-racer prized for its spacious interior, balanced handling, and value in the used market, featuring a masthead sloop rig, fin keel with spade rudder for responsive performance in moderate winds and seas, and a fiberglass hull that emphasizes stability and ease of short-handed sailing—ideal for family weekends or club racing in bays and sounds, though its short production makes it a collector's gem rather than a bluewater contender.
