O'Day 25

Description

The O'Day 25, designed by C. Raymond Hunt of Hunt & Associates and produced by O'Day Corp. from 1975 to 1984 with an impressive 2,898 hulls built, is one of the most successful and ubiquitous American trailerable pocket cruisers of its era, blending spacious accommodations, shallow-draft versatility via its keel/centerboard configuration, and forgiving performance for coastal day sailing, weekend overnights, or club racing in protected waters like bays and lakes—owners love its roomy feel for a sub-25-footer, stable motion in chop, and ease of trailering under 2,000 pounds dry weight, though it's not ideal for extended offshore without upgrades. Featuring a masthead sloop rig on a fiberglass hull with a weighted centerboard for drafts from 2.25 to 6.00 feet (or optional fixed keel at 4.50 feet), it offers a comfortable interior with V-berth forward, saloon settees, and quarter berth sleeping up to four (or five snugly) under 5'6" headroom, plus a compact galley and portable head, all powered by a 15 HP outboard auxiliary for reliable motoring at 5-6 knots.
