Description
The Beneteau Oceanis 510 Clipper is the full designation for this iconic aft-cockpit cruiser, designed by Berret-Racoupeau and built by Beneteau in France from 1992 to 1997. Conceived as a "true Clipper" for its power, speed, stiffness under sail, and ease of maneuver, it was a flagship model emphasizing family cruising with bluewater potential. Around 100 units were produced, many in charter fleets, and it's lauded for its expansive volume and responsive handling. The "Clipper" tag highlights its clipper-like qualities—fast and seaworthy—often with a navy hull and charter-friendly features. Variants include deep fin keel (6.23 ft draft) for upwind edge, wing keel (6.07 ft) for stability in shallows, and 3- or 4-cabin layouts.
