North Wind 405

Description

The North Wind 405 is a fiberglass performance cruising sailboat built by the Spanish yard North Wind Yachts (Barcelona) in the mid-1980s, with limited production (exact numbers unknown, but rare with few surviving listings). Designed for bluewater capability with spacious accommodations and excellent seakeeping, it features a lifting keel for variable draft (shallow for coastal access, deep for offshore stability) and a masthead sloop rig with a generous sail plan for strong light-air performance. The center-cockpit layout enhances safety, while the interior sleeps 6-7 comfortably: V-berth forward, U-shaped galley, large saloon with dinette and settees, enclosed head with shower, and aft cabin. Finished in teak, it's a true ocean passage-maker for couples or families. Typical power is a 45 hp diesel (e.g., Beta Marine repower).
