North Star 26

Description

The North Star 26 is a classic fiberglass masthead sloop designed by the esteemed firm Sparkman & Stephens and built by North Star Yachts Ltd. in Canada from 1976 to 1981. With approximately 25 units produced, it's a compact coastal cruiser emphasizing balanced performance, seaworthiness, and simplicity—ideal for couples or small families on day sails or short overnights. The fin keel with skeg-hung rudder provides protected steering and good tracking, while the moderate displacement hull offers a forgiving ride in chop. The interior is cozy: V-berth forward, convertible settees in the saloon (sleeps 4), compact galley with sink and stove, and a portable head. Auxiliary power was typically a small outboard (4-6 hp) or optional inboard diesel.
