North Sea 33

Description

The North Sea 33 is a rare fiberglass pilot house cutter designed by William Garden (based on his earlier Sea Tiger 34) and built by Ta Chiao Yachts in Taiwan from 1977 to 1978. Only a small number (fewer than 20 units) were produced, making it a sought-after bluewater cruiser for those seeking a sturdy, heavy-displacement vessel with enclosed pilothouse protection for northern latitudes or heavy weather. It features a fin keel with skeg-hung rudder for stability and rudder protection, a cutter rig for versatile sail handling, and solid fiberglass construction emphasizing seaworthiness over speed. The interior is practical for 4-5: V-berth forward, U-shaped galley, saloon with convertible settees, enclosed head with shower, and quarter berth aft, all under the pilothouse for all-weather visibility. Standard power was a Perkins 4-108 diesel (50 hp).
