Norseman 535 Sloop
Description
The Norseman 535 is a luxurious fiberglass bluewater cruising sailboat designed by Gary Grant and built by Norseman Yachts Inc. in collaboration with Shing Sheng (Ta Shing) Yacht Building Ltd. in Taiwan, starting in 1987. Only 7 units were produced, making it an ultra-rare center-cockpit cruiser prized for its expansive accommodations, robust construction (Airex foam-cored for strength and insulation), and exceptional seaworthiness. It features a fin keel with skeg-hung rudder for protected steering and balance, and a cutter rig for versatile heavy-weather sail handling—ideal for long ocean passages with a family or crew. The teak-rich interior spans three cabins (V-berth forward, guest doubles amidships and aft), two heads (one with shower), a full U-shaped galley, expansive saloon with dinette and settees (sleeping 6-8), and a dedicated nav station. Standard power was a Perkins or Yanmar diesel (around 80 hp).
