Description
The Nauticat 33 is the legendary Finnish-built pilothouse motorsailer designed by W. Aarnipalo and first produced in 1967 by Siltala Yachts in Jakobstad, Finland, revolutionizing the genre as the brand's foundational model with over 1,160 units built through 1996, renowned for its uncompromising seaworthiness, easy-handling ketch rig, and cozy all-weather comfort that makes it ideal for couples or small crews embarking on extended coastal or bluewater passages under sail or power. Constructed from solid fiberglass with a heavy long keel and skeg-hung rudder for stability and protection, it displaces 17,250 pounds with 5,150 pounds of ballast, measures 33.17 feet LOA, 28.17 feet LWL, 10.67 feet beam, and 5.08 feet draft, achieving a hull speed of 7.11 knots and 475 square feet of sail area under a masthead ketch configuration powered by the reliable 90 HP Ford Lehman diesel engine with 160 gallons of fuel and 80 gallons of water capacity for exceptional range.
