Nancy's China Sprit Rig

Nancy's China Sprit Rig

Description

Nancy's China is a popular 15-foot pocket cruiser sailboat designed by Sam Devlin of Devlin Designing Boatbuilders (USA) in the late 1980s/early 1990s. It was created as an easy-to-build, trailerable daysailer/weekender that balances garage storage with overnight capability for two people—often described as "the biggest boat you can fit in a garage and the smallest boat you would want to sleep on." The design is available as stitch-and-glue marine plywood plans or kits, with a hard-chine V-bottom hull, centerboard (or daggerboard in some variations), and options for gaff or Marconi (Bermudan) sloop rig. A "DC" (deck/cockpit) open version without the cabin also exists, and some builds incorporate electric auxiliary power. It features a large cockpit for day sailing, a cozy forward cabin with basic accommodations (berths, sitting headroom), and is light enough to tow with most vehicles while remaining stable and fun to sail. Hundreds have been built by amateurs worldwide due to its forgiving construction and versatile performance.
