The Kaufman 43 is a rare, classic cruiser/racer designed by F. Michael Kaufman (of Kaufman & Ladd in Annapolis, MD) and built in Taiwan by an unspecified yard (likely Ta Chiao or similar, akin to his CT series) in 1985–1986, as a stretched evolution of the Albin Nimbus 41 with influences from early Swans, prioritizing offshore seaworthiness, balanced speed, and comfort for long passages in a fiberglass fin-keel hull with center-cockpit layout. Only 4–7 examples were produced, making it an elusive gem for bluewater enthusiasts seeking a robust, teak-accented liveaboard with substantial storage and easy short-handed handling.
