The Morgan 382, designed by Ted Brewer and Jack Corey and built by Morgan Yachts from 1977 to 1982 with around 300 units produced (evolving into the 383/384 variants), represents a refined center-cockpit cruiser with fin keel and skeg-hung rudder (5 ft draft) emphasizing seaworthiness and live-aboard comfort for coastal or offshore passages on routes like the Eastern Caribbean or Atlantic crossings, blending classic lines with practical volume in a masthead sloop rig.
