Morgan 35
Description
The Morgan 35 is a classic American recreational sailboat designed as a versatile coastal cruiser and occasional racer, known for its solid construction, balanced performance, and spacious layout suitable for family cruising. Designed by Charles Morgan (founder of Morgan Yachts), it was built by Morgan Yachts in Clear Lake, Texas, from 1970 to 1977. During this 8-year production run, exactly 140 units were constructed, making it a relatively low-production model compared to contemporaries like the Pearson 35, but highly regarded for its quality hand-laid fiberglass hulls and timeless lines. It's constructed of solid fiberglass with a centerboard or fixed keel options and a spade rudder for responsive handling, emphasizing durability and ease of maintenance. The design reflects the early 1970s IOR influences with a moderate beam and a masthead sloop rig, ideal for short-handed sailing on bays or coastal waters.
