Mirage 24 Tall Rig

Description

The Mirage 24 is a classic Canadian racer-cruiser designed by George Cuthbertson and George Cassian (Cuthbertson & Cassian) and built by Mirage Yachts Ltd. (Pointe-Claire, Quebec) starting in 1972, nearly identical to the Northern 1/4 Ton and optimized for MORC (Midget Ocean Racing Club) competition with its lightweight fiberglass hull, fin keel, and transom-hung rudder for agile handling and planing potential in light to moderate winds. This compact masthead sloop accommodates 2–4 for day sails or short overnights in a spartan interior with V-berths forward, settee berths, minimal galley, and portable head, making it an affordable entry-level vintage boat for club racing or trailering; available in short rig (for gusty conditions) and tall rig (for better light-air performance) variants, it's noted for tenderness in heavy weather but praised for simplicity and speed (hull speed 6.0 kn).
