Description
The Mirage 236 is a compact American trailerable racer-cruiser designed by Bruce Kelley and built by Mirage Manufacturing (Florida, USA) in 1978, with approximately 250 hulls produced as a MORC (Midget Ocean Racing Club) competitor emphasizing speed in light to medium winds through its lightweight fiberglass hull, wide beam for stability, and masthead sloop rig. Featuring a fixed fin keel with spade rudder (or optional drop keel with retractable transom-hung rudder for shallow-water access), it accommodates 2–4 for day sails or short overnights in a basic interior with V-berths forward, settee berths, minimal galley, and portable head, delivering agile handling (SA/D 22.2) and a hull speed of 5.79 kn but noted for tenderness in heavy air; ideal as an affordable vintage starter boat.
