Maxi 999

Maxi 999

Description

The Maxi 999 is a sleek, performance-oriented Swedish racer-cruiser designed by the legendary Pelle Petterson (Olympic medalist in the Star class and the driving force behind the entire Maxi series). Built by Maxi Yachts (Pelle Petterson AB) from 1985 to 1991, several hundred hulls were produced. It serves as a bridge between the more traditional family cruisers in the Maxi line (like the 95 or 108) and something sportier—featuring a fractional sloop rig, fin keel (often with bulb for added stability), spade rudder, and a modern hull shape for sharper handling, better upwind performance, and lively sailing while keeping the Swedish hallmarks of solid fiberglass construction, spacious accommodations, and ease of use.
