Maxi 95
Description
The Maxi 95 is a highly successful Swedish family cruiser designed by Olympic medalist Pelle Petterson (bronze in Star class, also known for the Volvo P1800 car). Built by Maxi Yachts (Pelle Petterson AB) and Börjesson Brothers from 1974 to 1983, around 1,600 hulls were produced, making it one of the most popular boats in the Maxi series (alongside the smaller Maxi 84 you asked about earlier). It's celebrated for excellent build quality (thick fiberglass hulls resistant to osmosis), spacious accommodations for its length, solid seaworthiness, and rewarding sailing characteristics—easy to handle shorthanded yet capable in coastal/offshore conditions. This is a masthead sloop with a fin keel and skeg-hung rudder, raised coachroof for interior volume, and a practical, family-oriented layout. It's stiffer and more comfortable than many contemporaries, with good motion in a seaway.
