Maxi 108
Description
The Maxi 108 is a robust Swedish family bluewater/coastal cruiser designed by the legendary Pelle Petterson (Olympic medalist and creator of the entire Maxi series). Built by Maxi Yachts and Börjesson Brothers from 1979 to 1984, around 200 hulls were produced (some sources note ~200 in the US or total production). This is a masthead sloop with a fin keel, spade rudder (balanced for good handling), wheel steering (with emergency tiller), and a center cockpit layout on many examples for dryness and security. The build features thick fiberglass hulls (known for durability and low osmosis issues when maintained), raised coachroof for headroom, and a practical, spacious interior.
