Manta 14

Description

The Manta 14 is a compact, fiberglass daysailer from the 1970s, designed as an affordable, trailerable pocket cruiser for recreational sailing on lakes or protected coastal waters. Produced in limited numbers (around 54 units total), it's a lightweight sloop similar in style and performance to the popular Holder 14—offering a roomy cockpit for up to four adults while being nimble enough for single handing. Builders are listed variably as Melen Marine Ltd. or HiPP (possibly under a Lettmann or Mithril design influence), but it's a rare find today. It's praised for its simplicity and stability in light winds but requires some skill in gustier conditions due to its responsive handling.
