Lindenberg 22
Description
The Lindenberg 22 M/T (Masthead/Transom) is a lightweight, high-performance fiberglass sailboat designed by Bruce Kelly and Paul Lindenberg, built by Lindenberg Yachts in Cocoa, Florida, from 1977 to 1982. Optimized for MORC (Midget Ocean Racing Club) and PHRF racing with cruising capabilities, it's a fractional sloop with a retractable keel and rudder, making it beachable and ideal for shallow waters like Florida Keys, coastal bays, or tidal areas such as Delaware Bay. With a displacement under 2,000 lb., it's trailerable and responsive in breezes (10-20 knots), often compared to a smaller S-2 7.9 for its planning hull and agility. Production was limited (~50 hulls), fostering a cult following among racers for its stiff, stable ride and low righting moment if capsized.
