Le Comte Northeast 38

Description

The LeComte Northeast 38 is a timeless fiberglass masthead sloop designed by the acclaimed naval architect William Tripp Jr. and built by the prestigious LeComte Yachts in the Netherlands from the early 1960s through the mid-1970s. With around 50 units produced across variants (e.g., Mk I, II, III), it's celebrated for its blend of offshore seaworthiness, elegant lines, and quality construction—featuring a solid fiberglass hull, Airex-cored decks for rigidity, and luxurious varnished teak interiors. The fin keel and spade (or skeg-hung in some) rudder deliver responsive handling and stability, making it a favorite for coastal cruising, racing, or moderate passages. The interior accommodates 4-5 in style: V-berth forward, enclosed head with sink/shower, U-shaped galley, saloon with convertible settees and gimbaled table, and quarter berth aft, plus a nav station.
